JAKARTA - A number of residents complained about cracks in the walls of houses in several RTs and a Jami Al-Husna mosque located in Rawa Indah Village, RT 04/03, Pegangsaan Dua Village, Kelapa Gading District, North Jakarta.

The cracking of walls and buildings occurred allegedly due to the activity of revitalization of Old Kali Cakung, Kelapa Gading District, which has been running since November 2025.

In addition to the cracks in the building walls, the impact of the tar road construction project also resulted in cracks in the road access in front of the mosque.

"Among them, this street is cracked. It is dusty, there is a lot of dust. The mosque has a sloping contour because it is passed by heavy equipment. (the wall) The mosque is also cracked on the right," said the Chairman of the DKM of the Jami Al-Husna Mosque, Muhammad Ridho, to reporters at the location, Thursday, August 6, 2026.

The damage to the wall and road access in front of the mosque was caused by the impact of the normalisation of the river project, one of which was due to vehicles and heavy equipment passing through.

"They bring soil, trucks to dredge (mud sediment). So it's not just the mosque, all the roads are crumbling. The car that brings the soil almost every day (passes) if there is dredging (time)," he said.

Residents hope that the revitalization of the river will be completed soon. The reason is that the negative impact felt by residents is very much.

"We residents want this work to be completed as soon as possible. The essence of the community is to be quick (revitalization is completed), as before, which means it is repaired as before," he said.

Rido also did not deny the positive side of the revitalization of the river.

"Actually there is an impact, so there are many pluses but there are also negatives. That is, there are many benefits, there are also impacts. But they should be a little sensitive, look at the buildings one by one," he said.

He said that the revitalization activity was a project of the DKI Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Service.

"The work of the kali project is the revitalization of the kali. This is a direct project of the Provincial Government," he said.

The same thing was also said by the Head of RW 03 Pegangsaan Dua Village, Roni. According to him, the impact felt by residents has been complained to him.

"The impact is very much because our location is difficult to access. We want this contractor to sit together, find out what the best solution will be," he said.

Roni said that the revitalization of the river had been proposed by residents since 2010 but only now has been realized. The proposal for the river's improvement was carried out by residents because the area was often flooded during the rainy season.

"Every year there is flooding here. If the proposal from 2010 has been, only now (has been implemented)," he said.

Roni said that due to the revitalization of the river, there were 3 RTs that were affected.

"Here the access (road) is narrow, there are (heavy equipment) that hit the house, people get asbestos. Those affected are RT 06, 05 and RT 04," he said.

Previously reported, the construction of the pavement in Kali Cakung Lama, Kelapa Gading and Cilincing Districts, North Jakarta, was complained by a number of residents on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

The reason is that the impact of the tar road construction resulted in the isolation of the residents' access road. In addition to impacting the residents' economy, the interruption of the road also caused damage to the PAM pipe for clean water belonging to residents.

This has harmed a number of residents who live in RT 04/03, Pegangsaan Dua Village, Kelapa Gading District, North Jakarta.
