War In Gaza Enters Day 200: Death Toll Reaches 34,183 People, 14,778 Of Them Children

JAKARTA - The death toll from the Hamas conflict with Israel in the region of Gaza, Palestine is nearly half of the total death toll, as the war enters its 200th day of war on Tuesday.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza on Tuesday announced that in the past 24 hours, Israel had carried out three massacres against families in the Gaza Strip, leaving 32 people dead and 59 injured and rushed to hospital, reported Yeni Safak April 23.

That brings the death toll of Palestinians to 34,183, while the injured have reached 77,143.

"Many people are still trapped under the rubble and on the streets and rescue teams cannot reach them," the ministry said.

Citing CNN, the state media office in Gaza reported that the number of children killed during the conflict had reached 14,778 as well as 9,752 women. As a result of the ongoing war, about 17,000 children in Gaza have lost one or both of their parents. And, about 7,000 others are thought to be missing.

Meanwhile, in the occupied West Bank, the death toll from violence by settlers and Israeli officials against Palestinians has killed 487 people, of which 122 are children under the age of 18.

The office also estimates that around 86,000 houses were destroyed, another 294,000 were partially destroyed or unfit for habitation, and 103 schools and universities were destroyed while another 300 were damaged.

Separately, the United Nations said the war in Gaza had prompted 85 percent of the population there to evacuate internally amid a shortage of food, clean water, and acute medicines, while more than 60 percent of the bag's regional infrastructure had been damaged or destroyed.
