7 People Involved In JI Arrested By Densus 88, Central Sulawesi Police Chief: 4 Palu Residents, 2 Sigi, 1 Poso

Central Sulawesi (Central Sulawesi) Police Chief confirmed that the Anti-Terror Special Detachment (Densus) 88 at the National Police Headquarters arrested seven people suspected of being affiliated with members of the Islamic Congregation (JI) on Tuesday, April 16.

"From the information we received the seven people, four of them are residents of Palu City, two residents of Sigi Regency and one resident of Poso Regency," said Central Sulawesi Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Agus Nugroho in Palu, Wednesday. He revealed that four residents of Palu City were suspected of being members of JI with the initials AR, BS, GN, and BK, then two Sigi residents with the initials MH and HR and Poso residents with the initials SK. Information was received by the first two houses that were searched on Lagarutu street, Talise Valangguni Village, Palu City, then a number of evidence was confiscated from the two houses, including laptops and cell phones.

"Currently development is being carried out," he said. After conducting a search in Palu City, the fully armed Detachment 88 team assisted by the Central Sulawesi Regional Police Gegana team searched a resident's house in Kalukubula Village, Sigi Regency. Steps were taken by the police as an effort to take action against radicalism and terrorism to develop in the country.
