Mahfud MD: The Results Of The Letter Rights Can Be A Criminal Process Even Though The Election Is Over

JAKARTA - Vice Presidential Candidate number 3 Mahfud MD confirmed the results of the investigation into the DPR's right to inquiry if it was proven that there was election fraud caused by power that did not run according to the constitution, the reward was criminal.

According to him, the crime binds to the guilty even though the 2024 simultaneous elections have been completed.

"The right of inquiry can conclude that there are criminal allegations that will result in a criminal process even though the election has been completed," Mahfud wrote in his X account, Friday, March 8.

In this tweet, Mahfud also mentioned that only the General Election Commission (KPU) has the authority to announce the winner of the election which decides the elected presidential and vice presidential and legislative pairs.

Meanwhile, regarding disputes related to elections, the authority is the result in the Constitutional Court (MK).

"Anyway, legally, the only thing that can determine the election results is the KPU and/or the Constitutional Court," he said.

Mahfud also reminded that observers or legal experts should not argued that the DPR's right to inquiry could make the election results invalid.

"A class of legal experts like no one can argue that the election results can be canceled by the DPR," he said.
