There Was Fee Bargaining In Nurdin Abdullah Case

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Firli Bahuri, said that there were negotiations on the amount of fees in the alleged bribery and gratuity case that was received by the Governor of South Sulawesi, Nurdin Abdullah.

The bargaining of fees was carried out by the Secretary of the Public Works Office (Sekdis PU) of the South Sulawesi Provincial Government, Edy Rahmat (ER) for contractors who will work on projects in the South Sulawesi. The contractor is the Director of PT. Agung Perdana Bulukumba, Agung Sucipto (AS).

"It is suspected that there was a fee bargaining for determining each of the project values that AS would later undertake," said Firli Bahuri during a press conference at the KPK building, Jakarta, Saturday, February 28.

According to Firli, this bargaining took place in February 2021. Since February 2021, there has been active communication between AS and ER as a representative and at the same time as NA's confidant to ensure that AS gets back the project he wants in 2021.

Then, around the beginning of February 2021, when NA was in Bulukumba met with ER and also AS who had received the Bira Tourism project.

"NA told ER that the continuation of the Bira Tourism project will be carried out again by AS, which then gave NA approval and ordered ER to immediately accelerate the preparation of the DED (Detail Engineering Design) document which will be auctioned in the 2022 FY Local Government Budget," said Firli.

Besides that, at the end of February, ER met with NA and said that the fee for the project carried out by AS in Bulukumba had already been given to another party. At that time, NA said the important thing was that AS could still assist NA activities.

"AS then on February 26, 2021, allegedly handed over IDR 2 billion to NA through ER," said Firli.

In this case, the KPK named three people as suspects. They are the Governor of South Sulawesi (Sulsel) Nurdin Abdullah as a suspect in a case of alleged bribery and gratification related to infrastructure projects in the South Sulawesi Provincial Government.

Then the Secretary of the Public Works Office (Sekdis PU) of the South Sulawesi Provincial Government, Edy Rahmat and the Director of PT. Agung Perdana Bulukumba, Agung Sucipto as suspects.

Firli explained, Agung Sucipto, the Director of PT. Agung Perdana Bulukumba who has long known Nurdin Abdullah, wants to get several infrastructure work projects in South Sulawesi for the 2021 budget year.

For the crimes they allegedly committed, Nurdin Abdullah and Edy Rahmat are suspected of violating Article 12 letter a or Article 12 letter b or Article 11 and Article 12B of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Acts. Corruption Crime in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code. Meanwhile, Agung Sucipto, who was named a suspect in giving bribes, is suspected of violating Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or Article 5 paragraph (1) letter b or Article 13 of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 regarding Eradication of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code.
