Ahead Of The Calm Period Of The 2024 Election, Thousands Of Officers In East Jakarta Are Ready To Remove The APK

JAKARTA - Thousands of joint personnel will be deployed to clean up campaign props (APK) in 10 sub-districts, East Jakarta, Sunday 11 February because the 2024 election campaign has entered a calm period.

Head of the East Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) Budhy Novian said that the decline or cleaning of the APK involved 4,381 joint personnel, including Satpol PP, TNI, Polri, Bawaslu, KPU, Kominfotik Sub-Department, Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Transportation Sub-Department, Parks and Urban Forests Sub-Department, and others.

"The decline was four times in 3 days during calm times. However, on Sunday (February 11) it decreased twice, namely after the joint rally at the East Jakarta Mayor's Office at 00.00 and Sunday at 08.00," said Budhy, ANTARA, Thursday, February 8.

To support this activity, four ladders belonging to the Transportation Sub-dept., the Fire and Rescue Sub-Department (Gulkarmat), and the Highways Sub-Department were prepared.

In addition, as many as 58 trucks belonging to the Satpol PP, including 65 operational cars for handling infrastructure and public facilities (PPSU).

Meanwhile, East Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Nicolas Ary Lilipaly said that his party together with Satpol PP, Bawaslu, KPU, and teams from each political party and related agencies would clean up the campaign budget on Sunday, February 11.

"Towards the voting on February 14, 2024, we have communicated and coordinated and collaborated with the East Jakarta City Government to unite security measures, one of which is cleaning the APK," said Nicolas.
