Demonstration In Front Of The DPR Is Still Safe, Police Thicken Security

JAKARTA - Mass groups from the Village Head Association and Village Apparatus who are members of the Joint Action of Volume IV Village held another demonstration urging the revision of Law no. 6 of 2014 concerning Villages at the DPR/MPR RI Building, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, February 6.

According to VOI monitoring at the location, the demonstration situation took place conducively because the police strengthened security in the DPR/MPR RI building area.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro said the police officers involved in securing 2,730 joint personnel from the Metro Jaya Police, Central Jakarta Metro Police, TNI, DKI Regional Government and related agencies.

"Personnel will later be placed at a number of points around the DPR. As a result of the evaluation of previous demonstrations, the masses burned tires, closed toll roads and damaged fences," said Kombes Susatyo when confirmed, Tuesday, February 6.

Kombes Susatyo said the demonstration this time had been anticipated by the Central Jakarta Metro Police by preparing a number of personnel to provide security and prevent mass action to enter the toll road.

Meanwhile, the closure or diversion of traffic flow around the DPR is situational. Traffic flow engineering will be implemented to see the dynamics of the situation in the field.

"We will see later the number of masses, if there are quite a lot of people in front of the DPR and the escalation increases, then we will divert the flow of traffic that will lead to the front of the DPR Building, insulation on Pulau Dua. Vehicles from the inner toll road that will go to the toll exit in front of the DPR are closed and straightened towards Slipi," he said.

The police chief emphasized to all personnel involved in security to always act persuasively, not provoked, prioritizing negotiations, services and humaneism.

"We appeal to corlaps and orators to conduct speeches in a polite manner and not provoke the masses," he said.

Kombes Susatyo said, carry out demonstrations peacefully, not imposing will, not anarchism and not destroying public facilities. Respect and respect other road users who will pass in front of the DPR.

"With the preparation and readiness of security that we have carried out, we urge all parties to always maintain security and order," he said.
