Police Arrest Begal Perpetrator of South Sumatra Police Member

PALEMBANG - Polrestabes Palembang, South Sumatra, arrested two suspects in a violent theft (curas) against a member of the Medical and Health Sector (Biddokkes) of the South Sumatra Police in West Ilir I District.

Palembang Police Chief Kombes Sonny Mahar Budi Adityawan said the two suspects with initials FZ and FI were detained to undergo legal proceedings.

The incident occurred on Jalan Inspektur Marzuki, Siring Agung Village, West Ilir I District, Palembang, Friday (7/8) at around 03.00 WIB.

The victim with the initials JE who had the rank of Aiptu at the time of the incident was delivering two passengers using a motorcycle.

According to the police, after arriving at the destination, there was a dispute regarding the payment of delivery services.

Police suspect that one of the perpetrators then hit the victim's head with a wooden beam and injured the victim's stomach with a sharp weapon.

The perpetrators then took away the victim's motorcycle.

After receiving the report, the Palembang Police Criminal Investigation Unit carried out an investigation of the crime scene, examined surveillance camera (CCTV) footage, and asked for the testimony of a number of witnesses.

The police then arrested FZ in the area of Jalan Inspektur Marzuki, Palembang, Monday (10/8) morning.

Based on the development of the investigation, officers arrested FI at a lodging house in the Alang-Alang Lebar area on Monday afternoon.

"This disclosure is proof of the seriousness of the ranks in eradicating street crime and providing legal certainty to victims. We do not give space for street crime perpetrators in Palembang," said Sonny.
