Prabowo Apologizes To Anies-Ganjar, Hasto: What Is Waiting For The Victims Of Human Rights Violations

JAKARTA - Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP), Hasto Kristiyanto, said that the families of victims of human rights violations (HAM) are waiting for an apology from the number two presidential candidate, Prabowo Subianto. This was conveyed in response to Prabowo Subianto's move to apologize to his two rivals, Anies Baswedan and Ganjar Pranowo, when giving a closing statement in the fifth debate which took place at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Senayan, Central Jakarta, Sunday, February 4. "Actually, the apology you have been waiting for is against human rights violations," said Hasto, quoted on Monday, February 5. According to him, as a candidate for leader, Prabowo must have good morals and ethics. "Yes, we hope that it will be added to an apology when in the past it is still an obstacle for a leader because leaders must have a good track record, have good ethical morals," he said. In addition, Prabowo's apology to the families of victims of human rights violations is much more important and the Indonesian people are waiting for it. Because Prabowo and Anies Baswedan and Ganjar Pranowo only had arguments at the moment of the presidential election contestation (Pilpres). "What we are waiting for is the commitment of Pak Prabowo which is highlighted when there are state officials who then use state facilities and even use intimidation politics. It is much more important than just apologizing to Mr. Anies or to Mr. Ganjar," said Hasto. Meanwhile, Prabowo representing Gibran Rakabumung Raka and the Forward Indonesia Coalition said they only wanted to do their best for the Indonesian nation and maintain harmony, unity, and kinship between all community groups. "We have only been carrying out a campaign that has been full of enthusiasm, full of contestation, sometimes full of harsh words, but in good faith, I think three pairs of candidates want the best for the Indonesian people," he said.

"On behalf of Prabowo-Gibran, on behalf of the Forward Indonesia Coalition, I apologize to candidate pair number 01, Mr. Anies, Mr. Muhaimin, and candidate pair number 03 Mr. Ganjar and Mr. Mahfud if in this campaign there are our words or our actions that are not pleasing, we apologize profusely," he said, accompanied by his partner, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who also showed his apologies.
