Motorcyclist In Ojol Jacket Recorded By CCTV Steal Student Cellphones In Pulogadung

JAKARTA - An online motorcycle taxi (ojol) man was caught on CCTV cameras carrying out a mugging of a student's cellphone on Jalan Malam Kyai Haji Darip, Jatinegara Kaum area, Pulogadung District, East Jakarta.

In the CCTV camera footage, one of the students is seen playing with a mobile phone. Then the motorcyclist with the attributes of an ojol jacket immediately took the victim's cellphone and fled.

The victim had chased while screaming for help, until residents who heard the screams had left the house. But the perpetrator managed to escape.

Tarni, a resident around the incident, said the perpetrator was one person with a motorbike without a plate.

"The motorcycle taxi bike is the culprit. The motorbike was really fast," Tarni told reporters, Friday, February 2.

Masih kata Tarni, korban seorang pelajar merupakan warga setempat.

"People not far from his house from here, his house is close here. He wants to print in the photocopy store, there is an assignment from school. The victim is still a student. He is still in high school. We don't really know the boy, it's just that the child is here," he said.

Tarni said that this is not the first time this has happened.

"If there are frequent incidents here, the streets here are quiet," he said.

According to Tarni, the area is prone to street crime. So residents put CCTV cameras in every corner of the road.
