JAKARTA - The Curup Cross Road in Rejang Lebong Regency - Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province, on Sunday morning at around 03.30 WIB was completely cut off due to landslides that occurred in the area.

The commander of Kodim 0409/Rejang Lebong, Lt. Col. Inf. Moch Renaldy Herbowo, stated that the landslide occurred on Jalan Lintas Curup-Lebong, precisely in Talang Ratu Village, Rimbo Pengadang District, Lebong Regency.

"This landslide land has buried 25 meters long road bodies with a thickness of up to six meters. Currently, road access cannot be passed by two or four-wheeled vehicles," said Lt. Col. Renaldy Herbowo, Antara, Sunday, January 21.

As of 11.30 WIB, he said, TNI/Polri officers, the Lebong Regency BPBD, the Rimbo Pengadang District, village officials, and local residents, were still trying to get rid of avalanche material.

"There is already one unit of heavy equipment belonging to a resident of the type of loader that is used to get rid of landslide material," he explained.

According to him, the limited heavy equipment that can be lowered to the scene has caused the process of clearing landslide materials to run slowly.

Nevertheless, he said, members of the TNI/Polri, BPBD, and the community at the scene of the incident continued to try to get rid of landslide material so that this road could be passed using makeshift tools, such as hoes, shovels, and others.

Previously, heavy rains that hit the Lebong Regency area and other areas in Bengkulu Province on Saturday, January 20 from noon to night had caused landslides and buried Jalan Lintas Curup - Lebong Regency.

In this incident, it did not take any casualties, but for traffic access that connects Lebong Regency with Rejang Lebong Regency and its surroundings until noon it could not be opened.
