Bawaslu Has Not Firmly Ordered Troubled APK

JAKARTA - Controlling campaign props (APK) in East Jakarta has been tough. The East Jakarta Bawaslu said that controlling the APK at points that violate the regulations will be carried out by election participants and the LO (Liaison Officer) team.

"Election participants and the LO team will be mediated to tidy up the APK center whose points have violated the regulations and have the potential to endanger road users," said East Jakarta Bawaslu Chairman, Willem J Wetik when confirmed by VOI, Wednesday, January 17.

In addition, the East Jakarta Bawaslu stated that the APK settlement would still be carried out as a preventive measure (traffic accidents).

"PPK preparations will still be carried out as a preventive and mitigation measure as a result of unfavorable installations. Cooperating with stakeholders such as Kesbangpol, Pol PP, Dishub and others, especially to election participants," he said.

However, when asked when the control time will be carried out, East Jakarta Bawaslu has not been able to explain in detail.

"The implementation time is comprehensive or simultaneous. It is still being coordinated at the joint post for the 2024 General Election," he said.

Willem added that his party had also coordinated with the Satpol PP, but it was still hit by the rules and instructions from the leadership of the DKI Jakarta Satpol PP.

"There has been coordination with the Satpol PP but they are constrained by the rules and instructions from the leadership above regarding the APK preparations. Monggo was confirmed directly to the Satpol PP," he said.

Previously, it was reported that a number of campaign props (APK) for legislative candidates (Caleg) scattered in public facilities such as roads, sidewalks, trees to flyover bridges often harm vehicle drivers and the general public.
