TKN Clarifies Central Jakarta Bawaslu Call Regarding Gibran Distributing Milk In CFD

JAKARTA - The National Campaign Team (TKN) clarified a summons from the Central Jakarta Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu Jakpus) against Vice Presidential Candidate number 2, Gibran Rakabuming Raka related to distributing milk in the Car Free Day area some time ago. The reason is, Gibran is said to be absent because he did not fulfill the summons today.

Deputy Chairperson of TKN Prabowo-Gibran, Habiburokhman explained that two letters were sent to the Relawan TKN Secretariat located at Slipi, West Jakarta. The first letter was received on Saturday, December 30, 2023 to fulfill the summons on January 2, 2023.

"So they were called to attend January 2, 2023. This is an unreasonable letter, I think they are playing with the time machine, because they were summoned for the past year," Habiburokhman said in a press conference broadcast on YouTube Prabowo-Gibran, Tuesday, January 2.

"Therefore, Mas Gibran, we recommend not attending because his letter is formally flawed and does not make sense to attend on January 2, 2023," he continued.

The second letter, continued Habiburokhman, was received on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at 17.35 WIB for a call on January 3, 2024 at 13.00 WIB. According to him, the letter actually did not fulfill the element of the feasibility of summoning because it was not yet 1x24 hours.

"But we coordinated with Mas Gibran, he insisted on attending tomorrow," he said.

The deputy chairman of the Gerindra Party was surprised because BawasluRI had issued a letter regarding the status of the report on behalf of the reported Gibran Rakabuming Raka on December 27, 2023.

Bawaslu, said Habiburokhman, stated that the status of the two reports was not followed up on the grounds that they did not fulfill the elements of the election criminal offense. The letter was even signed by the Chairman of the Indonesian Bawaslu, Rahmat Bagja.

"Arriving yesterday, a letter appeared circulating among journalists, I don't know who circulated it, but we didn't get it, we just got a letter for two days in a row," explained Habiburokhman.

Therefore, the Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR also questioned the basis for summoning the Central Jakarta Bawaslu to Gibran. This is because the Indonesian Bawaslu has stated that no cases have been followed up and have been deemed completed.

"If this is likened, the National Police Headquarters stated that this case was not followed up, then the Polres level made a new summons. As far as I know, as long as I have been active as an advocate in the field of electoralism, there is no novum," said Habiburokhman.

"I don't understand, is Bawaslu instusi or Bawaslu personnel 'just want to do our vice presidential candidate'?," he added.

Habiburokhman ensured that TKN together with Gibran Rakabuming would fulfill the summons of the Central Jakarta Bawaslu tomorrow afternoon so that this issue would become clear.

"We will ask questions tomorrow. Because Mas Gibran insisted on attending if there was any summons. Because he respects his institution," he concluded.
