PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Pelni) added one passenger ship to help transport travelers during the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year holidays in the East Nusa Tenggara region.

"We added one ship to help travelers during Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024 from the previous six ships serving in the NTT region," said Head of the Pelni Secretariat Evan Eryanto, ANTARA, Sunday, December 10.

This was conveyed in relation to PT Pelni's readiness to support travelers who want to go home during the Christmas and New Year holidays in the island-based province.

He said that the six previous ships that served in the NTT region were KM Umsini, KM Awu, KM Bukit Sigungtang, KM Wilis, KM Sirimau and KM Lambelu.

Meanwhile, the ship that was added to help transport travelers to help the other six Pelni ships was KM Binaiya.

He ensured that the ships operating at Christmas and New Year were passenger ships that were ready to sail.

He said, regarding the peak of the homecoming flow through the Tenau Kupang port, it is predicted that it will occur on December 23, where the ship operating at that time was KM Awu and the number of passengers was 600 to 800 passengers.

"But on December 18 there was also the KM Binaiya ship and the predictions of the travelers ranged from 600 to 800 passengers," he said.
