Weather Today: Rain Hits Several Big Cities In Indonesia

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) estimates that light to heavy rain accompanied by lightning will hit a number of major cities in the country on Sunday, October 10.

Reporting from the www.bmkg.go.id page, in the morning, Sunday, December 10, light rain will wet the Pontianak and Makassar areas. Meanwhile, the Jambi and Pekanbaru areas are expected to be foggy.

During the day, light rain has the opportunity to fall in the areas of Banda Aceh, Central Jakarta, Gorontalo, Jambi, Bandung, Surabaya, Pontianak, Palangka Raya, Samarinda, Tanjung Pinang, Ternate, Kupang, Manokwari, Pekanbaru, Kendari, Manado, Padang, and Palembang.

Rain with intensity will flush Ambon and Makassar. The areas of Banjarmasin, Pangkal Pinang, and Medan will be hit by heavy rain accompanied by lightning.

Entering the evening, light rain has the potential to fall in the Jambi, Semarang, Surabaya, Palangka Raya, Tanjung Pinang, Pekanbaru and Makassar areas. Meanwhile, rain accompanied by lightning will hit the Samarinda area.

Light intensity rain will still flush several major cities in Indonesia on Monday, December 11 in the morning, such as in Samarinda, Tarakan, Pangkal Pinang, Kupang, Jayapura, Makassar, and Palembang. Meanwhile, the rain is expected to wet Pontianak.

Residents living in areas that are expected to experience moderate to heavy rain should increase their vigilance to deal with the possibility of inundation or flooding.
