"The victim named Nurman Bin Cut was suspected of being attacked by a wild elephant while escorting the elephant back into the forest with other residents," said Geumpang Police Chief Ipda Mirzan, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, November 27.

Mirzan said the incident on Sunday (26/11) at around 13.00 WIB, when three elephants were in the plantation of a resident of Dayah Baro Gampong Leupu Hamlet, Pidie.

Initially, dozens of people tried to lead them back into the forest and did not damage their crops. Unfortunately, one of the elephants went berserk and ran towards the residents.

"The elephant went berserk and ran towards the victim, so the victim was thrown about 30 meters after being lifted with its trunk," he said.

As a result of the incident, the victim had to receive treatment and was evacuated to the local health center for medical examination.

Reports from the Puskesmas, said Mirzan, that the victim suffered chest pain, back, lower abdomen, pain while breathing, swelling in the back due to a collision and no injuries were found on the victim.

"After receiving first aid, the victim was immediately referred to the Teuku Chik hospital in Tiro Sigli for further treatment," said Ipda Mirzan.
