Prabowo Concerning Gibran's Status: We Are Happy If He Remains A PDIP Cadre

JAKARTA - The presidential candidate from the Forward Indonesia Coalition Prabowo Subianto hopes that the vice presidential candidate who is his companion, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, will remain a cadre of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP).

"We are just happy if he (Gibran) remains a PDIP cadre," said Prabowo after attending the declaration of support for the presidential and vice presidential candidates of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) at Djakarta Theater, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, October 24.

Declare support for the Prabowo-Gibrandi pair conveyed by PSI General Chair Kaesang Pangarep who is also Gibran's younger brother.

Currently, Gibran is still a member of the PDIP, even though he has been declared a candidate for vice president from the Advanced Indonesia Coalition in the 2024 General Election.

Prabowo hopes that Gibran will not leave the PDIP because he considers all existing political parties as his comrades in arms.

"For us, there is no problem because it feels like all (party) are good. So, we consider all parties to be colleagues in arms, both Indonesians," said Prabowo.

The General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party DPP also said that he still has good relations with the leaders of other political parties, including with PDIP officials.

"My relationship with Mbak Puan is also good, with PDIP figures are also good," said Prabowo.

However, Prabowo admitted that he still did not know whether President Joko Widodo's eldest son would remain a PDIP cadre or not in the 2024 General Election.

Some time earlier, Gibrans was rumored to be a member of the Golkar Party which is part of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition.

The news of Gibran joining the party bearing the banyan tree logo is getting stronger with his presence at the Golkar Party National Leadership Meeting in Jakarta, Saturday (21/10).

At that time, the Golkar Party officially gave its support to Gibran to become Prabowo's vice presidential candidate in the 2024 General Election.
