JAKARTA - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said consultations through mediators are still ongoing to determine the next stage of negotiations with the United States aimed at drafting a final agreement, after the meeting plan in Switzerland was postponed.

In his statement to reporters in Tehran, Baghaei said details of the next round of negotiations would be announced after all the conditions necessary for holding talks were met.

He confirmed that the meeting in Switzerland, which was originally scheduled for Friday, had been postponed to a time to be announced later.

Quoting Antara, according to Baghaei, negotiations towards a final agreement depend on the implementation of a number of clauses in the memorandum that has been agreed upon.

The clause includes a ceasefire, lifting the US naval blockade, reopening shipping lanes through the Strait of Hormuz, granting exemptions for Iranian oil exports, and unfreezing Iranian assets.

Baghaei also denied reports that Iran had invited the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to inspect its nuclear facilities.

He explained that discussions regarding Iran's nuclear program will last for 60 days in accordance with the provisions of the memorandum. During this period, Iran's nuclear activities will continue as usual.

Baghaei added that inspections at facilities such as the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant would continue, while access to facilities affected by the US and Israeli attacks would depend on the results of ongoing negotiations.

According to him, one of the purposes of the meeting in Switzerland was to sign a memorandum and discuss the mechanism for the final stage of negotiations. However, the meeting was no longer necessary after the document was signed digitally on June 18. Currently, preparations for a new meeting in the coming days are being carried out.

Previously on Friday, the Swiss Foreign Ministry stated that the planned negotiations between the United States, Iran, Qatar, and Pakistan had been canceled and postponed. However, Switzerland confirmed that it was still ready to facilitate dialogue between the parties.

The announcement came after the White House said that US Vice President JD Vance would not travel to Switzerland because there were still unresolved logistical issues related to technical talks with Iran.

On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian signed an electronically "Islamabad Memorandum" mediated by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The memorandum is intended to pave the way for the cessation of the conflict that Washington and Tel Aviv started against Iran on February 28, as well as reopening the shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz as part of efforts to reduce tensions throughout the region.
