KPAI Ensures SMPN 132 Students Are Not Killed By Suicide Or Driven

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) confirmed that the cause of the victim's fall from the 4th floor of SMPN 132 Cengkareng was not suicide or something pushed the victim's body.

"Today I found that there was no suicide and was encouraged. What really happened, later the Cengkareng Police Chief will deliver an official release from the Police," said Chairman of the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI), Ai Maryati Solihah after holding a coordination meeting with a number of related agencies in the Principal of SMPN 132 Cengkareng, West Jakarta, Tuesday, October 10.

The head of KPAI stated that the process of handling child cases must be quickly in accordance with the law.

"The results of the investigation, there were no acts of bullying and so on. Assistance to the witness's child became KPAI's attention," he said.

In addition, KPAI encourages relevant agencies such as P3A, the Social Sub-Department, PPAPP and the Social Service to provide support to children who are feared to have anxiety, and even fear.

"Because this is a situation beyond our children's thinking at this time. KPAI hopes there will be special attention, because we don't want this to be a recurring event. This is the last one," he said.

Cengkareng Police Chief Commissioner Hasoloan Situmorang also denied any information circulating that the victim was a victim of bullying at school.

"Regarding the circulation of initial information, there are allegations that (the victim) was encouraged, bullied and so on, until now we have not found it," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the atmosphere of the SMPN 132 SSN school building on Jalan Tawangmangu, RT 02/06, Kedaung Kaliangke Village, Cengkareng District, West Jakarta looked quiet and deserted on Tuesday, October 10.

There was no teaching and learning activity at this school after the incident of a 3rd grade junior high school student with the initials D (16) who fell from the 4th floor of the school building.
