Meeting With Prabowo, Budiman Sudjatmiko Claims PDIP Is True And Will Not Resign

PDI-P politician Budiman Sudjatmiko said he would not resign from the party chaired by Megawati Soekarnoputri, even though there was an ultimatum from the Secretary General of the PDIP DPP, Hasto Kristiyanto. Previously, Hasto said that there were two options for sanctioning Budiman, namely resignation or dismissal. Budiman admitted that until now there has been no summons from the PDIP DPP. Originally, the PDIP DPP today decided on Budiman's fate in the party, but the decision was canceled. "So it's just a warning from the Secretary General personally and there hasn't been a summons yet. Because usually the process is if there is action against me, the cadres in general are preceded by an official summons by organizational letters to cadres who are subject to sanctions after passing the warning stage also through a letter," Budiman said when contacted by reporters, Monday, August 21. Budiman said he would fulfill the summons of the PDIP DPP if there was an official letter from the party's honorary assembly. "That's why I'm just waiting," he added. Even so, Budiman stated that he would not resign from the PDIP. Because, he felt the need for an explanation regarding the sanctions imposed on him. "To resign, me? No, for me, if you step down, it's like I don't even get an explanation, I don't have the opportunity to explain what my argument is. Because of course, I have arguments for my actions, namely I have listened to lectures and opinions from the general chairman regarding leadership specifications," he explained. Even Budiman feels that he is a true PDIP. So there is no need to resign from his party, or think about moving to the Gerindra party. "I didn't think about moving (to Gerindra, ed). Because I am still a PDI-P, and I still have an obligation. I feel that I am a true PDI," he said. Budiman revealed that since he was in elementary school, he had attended PDIP. So ideologically, he said, PDIP is a tool of struggle, not just an organization where he has a political career.

"No, but an ideological struggle organization. So if I am fired, at most, it will only erase my administrative status as a member of the PDIP, but my ideology is the same. My political choice is ideological and strategic considerations when forming a pre-dust yesterday," he said.
