The 1.2 Ton Sacrificial Cow From Jokowi For South Sulawesi Will Be Slaughtered In Bone

The 1.2-ton sacrificial cow from President Jokowi for South Sulawesi Province (Sulsel) is planned to be slaughtered during Eid al-Adha 2023 in Ponre District, Bone Regency, Mapsusang Village.

"The cow is already in Bone. The President's cow will be cut at the Jami Al Hikmah Mosque," said Head of the South Sulawesi Livestock Service Nurlina Saking at a press conference at the South Sulawesi Governor's Office, Tuesday, June 20, which was confiscated by Antara.

He said the South Sulawesi Livestock Service team together with the Veterinary Maros Center team had carried out a health check on the President's cattle and it was confirmed that they were in good health.

Regarding the location of Jokowi's sacrificial animal slaughter, Nurlina said the cow came from Bone so the slaughter was carried out in the area of origin. The reason is to mitigate the risk of animal disease on the way.

"So we look for a closer location and that in Bone, this meets the requirements according to the technical guidelines set by the Presidential secretariat," he said.

The President's sacrificial cow is a limousine cow that weighs up to 1.2 tons at a price of Rp95 million.

The limousine cow is the first to be developed in France. The limousine cow is of the type of beef cow, has dark brown fur except around white herself and lower knees and is around the eyes of the younger.

Ahead of Eid al-Adha 1444 Hijri, the South Sulawesi Provincial Government has also released 65 animal health workers who will oversee the examination of sacrificial animals in various districts in South Sulawesi so that these sacrificial animals are safe, halal, healthy and quality according to Islamic law.
