2 Gulkarmat Posts Have Been Built By The DKI Government To Make The Handling Of Fires In South Jakarta Faster

JAKARTA - The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta built two fire prevention and rescue posts (gulkarmat) to improve alert services to the people in South Jakarta

"I hope the two Gulkarmat posts can function effectively and quickly to help the community," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Gulkarmat Service, Satriadi, as quoted from Antara, Thursday, January 12.

The inauguration took place at the Mampang Business Park Gulkarmat Post, Tuty Alawiyah Street, RT 06/RW 02, Duren Tiga Village, Pancoran District.

Another location that was inaugurated was the Gulkarmat Post, Guntur Village Office, Setiabudi District.

Going forward, Satriadi in his statement hopes that the number of Gulkarmat posts can continue to grow.

It is Satriadi's hope that this Gulkarmat post can improve and improve the performance of firefighters in the field so that they can respond quickly to help local residents.

Meanwhile, Acting (Plt.) Head of the South Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-agency, Sugeng Wiyono, said that the two Gulkarmat posts could serve as a quick response service in the event of a disaster such as a fire.

"Currently, one fleet unit is placed at each post with a capacity of 2,500 liters with 12 officers each," said Sugeng.

This program is also in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister (Permen) of Public Works (PU) Number 20, 2009 concerning technical guidelines for fire extinguishers.

"Because if the fire behavior is not controlled for five minutes, a fire will occur and if the response is slow, there will be living things that become lifeless," he said.

Based on data from the University of Indonesia, in South Jakarta there are 864 RTs that are prone to fires in the severe and very heavy categories.

For this reason, the purpose of building this post is expected to be able to reduce the categories from very heavy and heavy to light categories which are very necessary to minimize the occurrence of fires.
