Dedi Mulyadi asks LPM to help accelerate village development

BANDUNG - West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi asked the Community Empowerment Agency (LPM) to help accelerate village development by executing various public infrastructure projects, by becoming one of the parties that ensure the optimization of village funds.

"I hope that the LPM will be a driving force and a working partner for West Java Province in accelerating development from villages and sub-districts, such as river dredging, road paving, the construction of houses for poor people, to the installation of electricity networks for the strengthening of village economies," said Dedi in Bandung, Saturday.

Dedi revealed that strengthening the economy of villages is a vital key to preventing the prevalence of Human Trafficking (TPPO).

He gave an example of the case of 12 West Java residents in Maumere who were victims of persecution and harassment in nightclubs because they were tempted by the lure of work.

"The wages are not appropriate, there is persecution and harassment. I am trying to repatriate and the owner of the entertainment venue is in the criminal process. We continue to accompany," said KDM.

Dedi also highlighted the serious threat to the economy of village residents due to online gambling, whose money turnover in West Java reaches IDR 2.5 trillion, the prevalence of online loans, to the infiltration of Tramadol hard drugs in village stalls.

"All people must make a structured movement from the center to the region to resist. This is not just a crime but a global problem that can cripple the future of the nation's children," he said.

The General Chair of the LPM RI DPP, Ahmad Doli Kurnia Tandjung, after the inauguration of the LPM managers in Bandung, Friday (7/8/2026), stated that he was ready to make LPM a strategic partner of the West Java Provincial Government in encouraging bottom-up development while curbing social diseases in rural areas.

"Indonesia's progress must start with accelerating village development with a strategy that is no longer entirely from top to bottom (top-down), but rather prioritizes a bottom-up approach through community participation," said Doli.
