Child Development Is Not Just About Health, Doctors Remind of the Big Role of Families and Communities

JAKARTA - In the midst of a more complex world, the meaning of the African proverb "It takes a village to raise a child" is increasingly relevant. Children do need a healthy nurturing ecosystem to grow and develop optimally.

The healthy child care ecosystem is influenced by factors such as family readiness in accompanying each stage of a child's early life, to easy access to health services. Thus, it is important to strengthen families and communities through a mutually supportive child care ecosystem.

Departing from this understanding, PT Bundamedik Tbk (BHMS/RS Bunda Group) through RSIA Bunda Jakarta again held the Bunda Parenting Convention 2026. The theme carried is 'From The First Heartbeat to a Bright Future, Every Step Matters'.

The event was presented as an educational space for families to equip parents with the necessary knowledge and support, in order to optimize children's growth and development from the beginning of life.

"Through the Bunda Parenting Convention which is also held in the context of International Children's Day and International Breastfeeding Week 2026, RSIA Bunda Jakarta through its multidisciplinary doctors is committed to supporting and accompanying families to obtain relevant knowledge and guidance for each stage of optimal child growth and development," added dr. Tiwi.

President Commissioner of PT Bundamedik Tbk (BMHS), Dr. dr. Ivan Rizal Sini, said that BHMS believes that maternal and child health does not stop at medical services alone, but is built through an ecosystem that connects clinical services, education, and family involvement, which is trying to be realized through the Bunda Parenting Convention 2026.

The implementation of the Bunda Parenting Convention 2026 presents a series of education for families that raises various issues that doctors most often encounter in daily practice.

The series of education is packaged in various interactive workshops that invite participants to understand the journey of child care in its entirety, from pregnancy to children entering school age.

The materials covered include pregnancy preparation through hypnobirthing and newborn care, understanding child growth and development for early detection of growth and development disorders, and handling feeding problems in infants and young children, which are often a challenge for parents.

With all these things presented, it is hoped that they will support Indonesian families in creating a healthy childcare ecosystem for children. Thus, the best start in life can be given to every child, while encouraging the realization of a healthier, more resilient, and quality generation.
