Anies Baswedan's Position Is Only 2 Months As DKI Governor, Gerindra Says Formula E Interpellation Is Impossible

JAKARTA - Member of the Gerindra faction of the DKI Jakarta Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), Syarif, sees that the Interpellation of Formula E is no longer possible. However, until now the PDIP Faction continues to echo the impetus for interpellation.

Currently, the ball for scheduling the interpellation plenary meeting of Formula E is in the hands of the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, who is also the Chairman of the Deliberative Body of the DKI Jakarta DPRD.

According to Syarif, Prasetyo couldn't schedule an interpellation plenary meeting. Because the term of office of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan is only two months away.

"Pak Pras is getting wiser day by day. It's no longer possible, well, to continue the interview. So, keep it short. It's impossible", said Syarif when contacted, Friday, August 12.

Moreover, currently, all political parties that will register as participants in the 2024 General Election are busy preparing and fixing the administrative requirements for each party.

"Now that the political year has started, it has started to run, it will be running soon. Many internal affairs have been borne. So, there is no more time for work outside the party", explained Syarif.

Previously, the chairman of the PDIP faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Gembong Warsono, stated that as the proponent of the interpellation, PDIP had asked for clarity on the continuation of the interpellation to the leadership of the DPRD.

"The interpellation stage is still waiting for a schedule from Bamus by the leadership (DPRD). Last week it was discussed, the chairman of the board said 'yes, we'll schedule it', that's it", said Gembong when contacted, Thursday, July 28.

Although in the plenary meeting the determination of the previous interpellation had stalled due to insufficient quorum, Gembong admitted that he was optimistic that the meeting that would be continued later could be carried out.

According to him, some faction members from the seven factions who initially rejected the interpellation would change their attitude to agree to hold the interpellation.

As a reminder, interpellation is the right of the DPRD to request information from the Governor regarding important, strategic, and broad-impact local government policies. In this case, the policies that will be investigated are the implementation of Formula E and budget transparency.

"I'm sure there are still a lot of friends who have seen how Formula E is going, how the advantages and disadvantages are. I'm sure my friends have an attitude", he said.

Gembong explained that if the interpellation could be held, the DPRD would evaluate the APBD allocation worth Rp560 billion which was disbursed for the payment of the commitment fee for Formula E which was held on Saturday, June 4.

"If Mr. Anies is smart, it must be as soon as possible so that he is not suspended, so that it is the best forum to assess the benefits of Formula E for residents of the capital city. Because it is from the APBD, so it must be explained transparently", explained Gembong.
