Expand Search 2 Km From Lost Location, Fisherman In Sabu Raijua NTT Finally Found

NTT - The SAR team found the body of Nikolaus Kale (42), a fisherman from Lobohede Village, Haumehara District, Sabu Raijua Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) who was declared missing two days ago while looking for fish in local waters.

Head of the Kupang Class A Search and Rescue Office, I Putu Sudayana, said the joint SAR team was immediately dispatched to search since the victim was reported missing.

"The SAR team from the Kupang Basarnas Office of four people led by the Head of Operations and Alert Section of the Kupang Search and Rescue Office, Saidar Rahmanjaya, was immediately dispatched to Sabu Raijua on Wednesday evening, July 20 to conduct search efforts for victims", he said.

Nikolaus explained, that on the first day of the search on Thursday, July 21, the joint SAR team was divided into two teams to search along Lobohede Beach.

A search and rescue team conducted a two-kilometer-long search to the west and two kilometers to the east of Lobohede Village.

Meanwhile, the other joint SAR team searched for the location where the victim was reported missing.

He said that during the search on Thursday, July 21, which was also attended by Deputy Regent of Sabu Raijua Yohanis Ully Kale and Chairman of Sabu Raijua Regional House of Representatives, Paulus Rabe Tuka, the search had not yielded results until 18.00 WITA.

He said during the third day of search and rescue operations, Friday morning July 2, Nikolas Kale was finally found. However, in a lifeless condition.

"After being found, the SAR team immediately handed over the victim to the family", he said.
