JAKARTA Google added charging capabilities of up to 80 percent on Pixel phones via Android 15 QPR1. This feature is beneficial for users who want to extend the life of their devices' batteries.

Mobile manufacturers agree that phones need to be filled up to 70 or 80 percent of their battery capacity. In theory, this incomplete battery charging can prolong the average internal cell due to lower levels of wear and damage.

Therefore, up to 80 percent of the battery charging feature is very useful for some users. When a Pixel phone is charged and users are busy with other activities, the phone will automatically stop charging after reaching 80 percent.

Unfortunately, this feature still needs to be improved because according to a 9to5google report, this 80 percent restriction does not work when the phone is off. Battery power will remain charged to 100 percent as if the feature has never been activated.

In fact, this problem is not so serious because it is rare for users to turn off their cellphones while charging. Usually, they will let the device turn on so that notifications from various applications can still enter.

This problem is also a reminder for Pixel users who want to activate 80 percent battery power restrictions. If they don't want to charge their battery to full, they need to make sure that the device is on.

It is not known whether Google plans to update this feature and keep the system shut down even though it is dead.
