The DKI KPU Joins The Center For The Inauguration Of The Governors Of The 2024 Regional Head Election Results Postponed March 2025

JAKARTA - Member of the DKI Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU) Doddy Wijaya admitted that his party submitted the decision when the inauguration of the Governor-Deputy Governor of Jakarta to win the 2024 Pilkada to the central government.

This is related to the news of the inauguration of the regional head which was postponed from February to March 2025.

So far, the decisions that are still in effect are Presidential Regulation Number 80 of 2024 concerning Procedures for Inauguration of Governors and Deputy Governors, Regents and Deputy Regents, as well as Mayors and Deputy Mayors. In Presidential Decree 80/2024, the inauguration of governors and deputy governors is still set on February 7.

"We fully submit it to the central government. Regarding Presidential Decree 80 to date, we are still arranging the simultaneous inauguration on February 7", Doddy told reporters, Sunday, January 5.

If later the government determines a change in the timing of the inauguration of regional heads resulting from the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Elections through the revision of the Presidential Decree, the DKI KPU will certainly follow and adjust it.

"Perpres 80 kan masih belum dicabut dan pelantikan kan domainnya pemerintah pusat, bukan acara KPU. Jadi, tentu kami handing it over ke pemerintah pusat. Apakah sampai sampai ini Keppres 80 atau ke depan mau ada revisi, tentu kami menyerahkan ke pemerintah pusat," urainya.

The inauguration of the elected regional head from the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Election, which was originally scheduled for February 2025, will be postponed to March 2025.

Chairman of Commission II of the DPR RI, Rifqinizamy Karsayuda admitted that the inauguration was postponed because the Constitutional Court (MK) would resolve all cases of Dispute in General Election Results (PHPU) from the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections, on March 13, 2025.

"And the Constitutional Court will only issue all letters stating that there is no dispute with all governors, elected mayors after the PHPU is completed at the Constitutional Court," said Rifqinizamy, Thursday, January 2.

According to him, elected regional heads who do not have disputes in the Constitutional Court must wait for the completion of other regional PHPUs in the Constitutional Court so that the inauguration is held simultaneously.

"That is the basic principle of simultaneous regional elections. Therefore, those who are not disputed must wait for the completion of the disputed Constitutional Court," he said.

Based on Presidential Regulation Number 80 of 2024 concerning the procedures for the inauguration of regional heads, the inauguration of elected governors and deputy governors from the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada is scheduled to be held on February 7, 2025.

Meanwhile, the inauguration of elected regents and deputy regents, mayors and deputy mayors, from the results of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections, is scheduled to be held on February 10, 2025.
