JAKARTA - The Philippines through The Clark International Airport and Corp. (CIAC) announced plans to build a stadium that could accommodate a major concert for world superstars like Taylor Swift.

In an interview with local media, Arrey Perez as CIAC President and CEO stated that the stadium would be close to Clark International Airport (CRK) in Pampanga.

In particular, Perez asked Taylor Swift to appear when the stadium was over. The plan, the inauguration party will be held in 2028.

"The Philippines has always been a music lover industry, whenever there is an international concert that hits. Especially with Clark Airport, it will be very easy to watch (concerts) when the facilities are here," said Arrey Perez, citing PhilSTAR Life, Sunday, July 14.

The stadium itself is expected to be built on an area of 40 hectares, costing 32 billion Peso or around Rp. 8.827 trillion.

"When we had the vision to have an entertainment center at Clark, we had done a lot of promotions," said Perez.

It was stated that the financing of this stadium came from investments from local and international companies originating from Singapore and the United States.

"Some parties are willing to work together. And when it comes to this project, it will become a public-private partnership. This is a very large project, covering an area of forty hectares and worth more than 30 billion Peso, so we really need a partnership with the government and the private sector to build the project," said Perez.

With this plan, Indonesia will get a new rival to hold a big music concert from international performers.

In the last ten years, Indonesia has had to compete with Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia to bring international musicians to Southeast Asia.
