James Corden Says "Soccer", Prince Harry Immediately Corrected

JAKARTA - Prince Harry can live in California, but for football matters, he still uses English terms.

The Duke of Sussex immediately corrected James Corden when he appeared on the After Hours with James Corden show after the World Cup final, Sunday, July 19.

People quoted Tuesday, July 21, said the conversation started when Corden mentioned Harry's experience playing football at school.

"I always thought you went to a school that was too elite to play soccer," Corden said.

"It's too elite to play football," Harry corrected. "Why do you call it soccer?"

Corden immediately replied.

"Because we are in the United States, Bung!"

In England, football is commonly called football. In the United States, the term soccer is more common.

Harry then told that he had been in the main team when he was at a preparatory school. However, when he moved to a bigger school, he was in the E team, far below the main team.

"From team A to team E. It certainly doesn't feel good," he said.

Although he admitted that football was not his main sport, Harry still followed his progress. He discussed England's defeat to Argentina in the World Cup semi-final with Corden and former England national team defender Rio Ferdinand.

England had a 1-0 lead until the last five minutes of the match. Argentina then scored two consecutive goals and eliminated England from the tournament.

The result left England failing to reach their first World Cup final since 1966.

"I think it's a mindset thing," Harry said.

Harry assessed that England was too quick to be pushed to play defensively when they were still 1-0 ahead.

"I think it wasn't the plan. It just happened. You can't try to defend a 1-0 lead against a team like that for 75 minutes or whatever," he said.

Ferdinand then invited Harry to discuss football further in his own show.

"You have to come to my office and discuss this with me," Ferdinand said.

Corden then asked Harry to rank the British figures who have the same first name as him.

Harry had said there was a "conflict of interest", but still voted.

Harry Styles was placed in first place. Harry Kane was in the next position. Prince Harry then received third place along with the fictional character Harry Potter.

"Then we'll play Quidditch," she said, referring to the fictional sport in the Harry Potter stories.
