JAKARTA - Singer and actress Mikha Tambayong officially released her latest music work which marked her first collaboration with Rayi Putra in a single titled Jalan Tengah.

The song, which was released under the auspices of MyMusic Records, presents a mature farewell narrative, telling the story of two people who love each other but must accept the reality that love is not always enough to unite two different heads.

Written by Rayi together with Ankadiov and Wizzy who are part of RAW Music, "Jalan Tengah" presents a perspective that is rarely touched.

This work consciously dispels common formulas such as the narrative of betrayal, great discord, or toxic relationships. Instead, this song portrays the struggle of a couple who slowly realize that the gap between them is too great to be bridged.

Small differences that initially seemed trivial slowly developed into real obstacles, ranging from entertainment tastes to the orientation of the way of seeing in life.

Rayi explained that this collaborative work wanted to give listeners a new perspective on dealing with a breakup so that it remains wisely and dignified.

"This is a mature break-up song, a song about a breakup that doesn't have to be filled with anger or deep sadness," Rayi said in a statement, Tuesday, July 21.

"We want to show that two people can break up in an adult, accepting way, and without having to blame each other," he continued.

Meanwhile, for Mikha, this project has a special place because it is a moment that realizes his childhood dream that has been buried for almost two decades.

"When I was 13 years old, I first met Rayi who was a special guest. Since then, I have kept the hope in my heart that one day I can duet with him," said Mikha.

The vocal side of this song is supported by Bianca Nelwan who acts as the vocal director, while the mixing and mastering process is entrusted to Reyner Ferdinand. The main message of this song is also transformed visually in the music video directed by Moedhalie.

In the clip, Mikha and Rayi portray a couple who spend time in the park with their respective busyness - Mikha reading a book and Rayi recording the moment using a camcorder.

The warm relationship continued until the arrival of a symbolic visual labyrinth, where Rayi stepped to the left while Mikha chose the right direction. When the two met again at the midpoint, they realized that the direction of their life's journey was different and chose to part amicably with a smile and a wave of the hand.

Through this song, the two musicians want to emphasize that not all relationships that end must be interpreted as a form of failure. Letting go of someone for the sake of each other's happiness is actually the highest form of respect for the journey of love that has been built together.
