Welcoming The New Version Of Fearless, Taylor Swift's Album Full Of Doubts, Conflict And Happiness

JAKARTA - Singer Taylor Swift released the song Love Story (Taylor's Version) on Friday, February 12. The song was released just a day after Swift made a surprise announcement on Good Morning America.

Swift also revealed through her social media that the album Fearless (Taylor's Version) will be coming soon. This announcement coincided with the release of the audio and video lyrics of Love Story (Taylor's Version).

Truly, this isn't new news for fans. It is known, a few months ago, Swift had plans to re-record her old material: self-titled, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, and Reputation.

These six albums were material for Swift while she was still under the label Big Machine Records. A little information, Swift and her old record label clashed after this label was purchased by Scooter Braun for 300 million US dollars.

After two months, Swift said she would re-record her old material. Despite being banned from singing her old song, Swift is finally able to sing the medley of her old release at the 2019 American Music Awards.

Now, after a number of statements, Taylor Swift is ready to greet fans with her new album. "An artist must have their own work for various reasons, but what is most obvious is that the artist is the only person who knows the work."

Fearless (Taylor's Version) contains 26 songs with an additional six songs that did not qualify for the previous album.

Many may ask why, of her six old albums, Swift chose the album Fearless, which was released 13 years ago. This is Swift's biggest-selling album of all of her discography.

She wrote all of her songs as a teenager. The singer who was born on December 13, wrote the songs in this album in the middle of promoting her first album.

Through Fearless, Swift has also begun to climb herself as a country-pop singer who has introduced the genre more widely. Each track on this album also has an inspiration or a story to make Fearless a solid album.

Starting from Love Story which was inspired by the story of Romeo and Juliet, Hey Stephen about Stephen Barker Liles, Forever & Always about her relationship with Joe Jonas from the Jonas Brothers and others. Swift presents the era of Fearless to suit her character and personality.

As a result, Lover became the most-sold album of 2019, Folklore has over 1.6 billion listings on Spotify, and Evermore has been heard 700 million times since its release on December 11, 2020 and the physical album has sold over one million copies in one week of release.

Why did Swift have to record her old album? This has to do with ownership. Currently, the release of her old album belongs to Braun even though the song is sung by Swift.

“This is what happens when you sign an agreement at 15 with someone who thinks 'loyalty' is a contract concept. And when the man says 'music has a value', what he means by value is a man who has no association with the making (of the music)."

Swift chose to re-record so that she can claim her old release, namely by adding "Taylor's Version". While this doesn't change the status of the old release, Swift takes control of the new version.

And it looks like Swifties is supporting Taylor Swift's new work even though it's not entirely new. The song Love Story (Taylor's Version) reached No.1 on the US music charts shortly after its release.

The hashtag #LoveStoryTaylorsVersion is also at number one on Twitter and the lyric video has been viewed 9.7 million.
