JAKARTA - Espresso successfully skyrocketed in Sabrina Carpenter's career as a pop singer. Now playing more than 1.7 billion on Spotify, the single is the top on Sabrina's track list.

But behind that, Sabrina admitted that he was surprised by the enthusiastic response of music lovers. Before releasing it, the 25-year-old singer did not have high expectations.

Sabrina reminisced about the moments of the release of the song to The Hollywood Reporter. "I remember deciding to release this song at the beginning of the summer and thinking cool, coffee is a more suitable type of drink for the fall," he said, quoted from NME, December 31.

One thing is for sure, Sabrina Carpenter really likes Espresso as a whole. That's why he is very confident in the catchy track, even though he doesn't have too high hopes.

"I really don't know if the song will match, but the sentiment and the sound of the song and the belief he brings are something I really believe in," he said.

"So I really didn't expect anyone to like it, but I like it, and that's the only thing that was important to me at the time, and something I tried to remember over and over again," added Sabrina.

Thanks to the song, Sabrina Carpenter won various awards including the MTV VMAs version of Song of the Year, and became the nominee for the 2025 Grammys.
