JAKARTA - The Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Office, Budi Awaludin, revealed that currently the DKI Dishub is no longer imposing fines on private vehicles that are towed or transported by Dishub vehicles in the regulation of illegal parking.

Budi emphasized that vehicle owners who are caught parking illegally can take back their vehicles by making a statement not to repeat the act of parking their vehicles illegally.

"We need to clarify that when the vehicle is taken by officers to the district office, the vehicle can be picked up immediately by making a statement. This service is not charged or fined at all, both for vehicles that are towed and those transported into our trucks," said Budi at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Sunday, June 21.

Thus, the administrative sanctions in the form of a fine of Rp. 500 thousand for four-wheeled vehicles and Rp. 250 thousand for two-wheeled vehicles that are towed or caught in the traffic control no longer apply in Jakarta.

"The fine has been eliminated since 2024. Now it's just making a statement not to repeat it again," said Budi.

This statement was emphasized by Budi and also clarified the news that was circulating regarding the ojol order that parked illegally in the Jatinegara area some time ago. Where, the ojol must pay Rp. 250 thousand to get his motorcycle back.

According to Budi, during the action, no fees or fines were imposed on the driver.

"We need to straighten out the news in the media as well, that the issue that is developing is that Mr. Sulis's motorcycle was detained, asked for Rp. 250 thousand, and three days if it was not taken it would be put in Satlantas, yes, like that that it was a hoax," he said.

He explained, Sulis took his vehicle on the same day after making a statement and was not charged anything.

"What really happened was that on that day, Mr. Sulis or Mr. Agung, when he was promoted and immediately Mr. Sulis also took that day, and immediately took the motorcycle by just making a statement and would not repeat it again, and no fee was charged," added Budi.

In addition to evaluating the pattern of enforcement, Dishub also plans to strengthen cooperation with the ojol community. One of the agendas to be discussed is the provision of special parking spaces in buildings and shopping centers for ojol drivers.

Budi said that the Dishub would bring together the ojol community, application operators, and building managers to find solutions to parking problems, which have long been a source of violations.

"The result of our discussion yesterday with our brothers is that we will invite the ojol community, operators, and also building managers so that in the future there will be a place for ojol, these friends in the future can have a place to park given to ojol there," he said.
