JAKARTA - Brian May and Roger Taylor of the band Queen have revealed their plans to release a previously unreleased song in September featuring the late vocalist Freddie Mercury.

They made the announcement before Queen and Adam Lambert took the stage for Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee concert on June 4. May, Taylor and Lambert were interviewed by Zoe Ball on BBC Radio 2.

“We did find some sort of little gem from Freddie, which we kind of forgot about and it's great. In fact, it was a real find. It's part of The Miracle, and I think it's coming out in September," Taylor said, citing Variety, June 7.

The Miracle is Queen's 13th studio album released in 1989. During a radio interview with DJ Mike Read, Mercury said the band had recorded 30 songs while working on The Miracle. Several tracks came on the B-side, while Hang On In There and Chinese Torture were bonus tracks for the original CD release.

May added that the song that will be released in the future is like hiding even though it is already in front of their eyes. Previously, they had weighed many times and thought they couldn't save the song.

"But the truth is, we went in to look at it again and our great technical team said, 'OK, we can do this and this'. It's like sewing the pieces together. But it's beautiful, that's the touching part," May said as quoted by ANTARA.

Since Mercury's death in 1991, Queen has released several previously unreleased songs featuring the singer, including the 2014 compilation album "Queen Forever" including new songs featuring Mercury's vocals added with the surviving Queen members.

Lambert has provided lead vocals for Queen since 2011, replacing Paul Rodgers who by then had toured with the band between 2004 and 2009.

For Queen and Lambert's latest performance at Queen's Platinum Jubilee, they performed a medley of some of their biggest songs including "We Will Rock You", "Don't Stop Me Now", and "We Are the Champions".

Queen and Lambert are currently touring together and are scheduled to put on three shows at London's O2 Arena, England, this week before returning to play a six-show series from June 14 to 21.
