JAKARTA - Angga Sasongko returned to the directing of a romance film titledHeartbreakbar after the last time directing the film 13 Bombs in Jakarta (2023). This film is adapted from the novel by Ika Natassa which marked his second work this year after The Architecture of Love.

This film brings together Laura Basuki, Reza Rahadian, and Chicco Jerikho in a story that Ika Natassa worked on with Alim Sudio. The story combines many layers of a love story, identity, and career.

Heartbreaking tells the story of Ava Alessandra (Laura Basuki), a top actress who is dating top actor Reza Malik (Reza Rahadian). Ava's life as an actor went well along with her growing popularity.

Slowly he felt bored with his life as Ava who was always known to the public. Not to mention, he often argued with Reza about anything, including small things. An incident led Ava to meet Raga (Chicco Jerikho) who is a businessman.

Ava was suspicious because Raga always stayed at the hotel, while Raga was interested in getting to know Ava more deeply. Their meeting became close and made Ava feel more comfortable and found a new world.

Don't underestimate what it looks like from the outside. At first glance, the film Heartbreak looks like a romance film in general, but from the start of the minutes, there was an intense side that Angga Sasongko presented to make the audience build curiosity.

Layer after layer is shown to answer what upheaval a Ava feels. Several times the camera's spotlight turned narrow to describe Ava's thoughts.

The complexity of a woman has been presented by Ava in three characters that will be answered in this film. In addition, Sita Nursanti managed to steal attention thanks to her dialogue and expression when she was with Ava.

Reza Rahadian and Laura Basuki displayed ups and downs chemistry, describing their relationship in their eyes and the public. Laura also presents different chemistry with Chicco Jerikho who tends to be sweeter and adorable.
