Lukman Sardi's Dream Of Glenn Fredly: The Movie, Gives Appreciation To Indonesian Musicians

JAKARTA - Glenn Fredly's life story is featured in the film Glenn Fredly: The Movie. The film, directed by Lukman Sardi, has become one of the films about Indonesian musicians after a long time.

"Sebagai sutradara, saya berskur didukung dari produser, produser eksekutif, pemain dan all crew. Mereka memberi energi luar biasa untuk saya memberikan yang sangat luar biasa," kata Lukman Sardi dalam konferensi pers pada hari ini, Rabu, 24 April.

Lukman explained that his desire to raise Glenn Fredly's story was not just a biopic, but also an effort to bring Indonesian musicians and the story behind their careers.

There is a closeness to the Glenn man, a kind of thing that never comes off. Maybe I've watched it many times but what touched me was the response of my own friends. Not as Oh, I succeeded but what to say. This film is about taste. If it feels like it's been extraordinary," he said.

"It's not possible to summarize the life of a Glenn in two hours. What we make is the feeling that arises, hopefully it feels the same as you hear the song Bung Glenn," said Robert Ronny as producer.

The figure of Glenn Fredly, played by Marthino Lio, who was honored to be able to play the legendary musician.

"Hopefully it can trigger something from us to become a better person, leave it for the next generation. There is a future legacy that will be returned in time," said Marthino Lio.

As a director, Lukman Sardi hopes that this film will be an opportunity for Indonesian musicians and their stories that can be seen by the wider community.

"Indonesia has a number of artists who contribute to Indonesia itself but sometimes not exposed. The more producers who finally open their hearts and see that we must give appreciation to artists who give hearts to Indonesia," said Lukman Sardi.

Glenn Fredly: The Movie tells the story of Glenn Fredly (Marthino Lio) who has the talent to sing and use his voice to voice human messages. Behind his soaring career, Glenn has problems with his family, love, and himself.

Glenn Fredly: The Movie will hit Indonesian cinemas starting April 25, 2024.
