Zaskia Gotix's Husband Allegedly Borrowed IDR 500 Million To Arif Yahya, Mimika Church Corruption Defendant

JAKARTA - The husband of dangdut singer Zaskia Gotix, Sirajuddin Mahmud is suspected of borrowing money from Arif Yahya, who is one of the defendants in the corruption case of the construction of the Kingmi Mile 32 Church in Mimika Regency, Papua.

This was conveyed by Arif Yahya's attorney, Muhammad Akilman Yudha after the trial of this case where Sirajuddin Mahmud was a witness from the Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

"Actually, in this case, our client has a statement that there is some money that according to our client's statement was lent to Sirajuddin's brother," said Muhammad Akilman Yudha at the Central Jakarta District Court, Thursday, April 18.

Initially, Arif Yahya wanted to confirm this to Sirajuddin in the trial, unfortunately Sirajuddin denied that Arif had ever borrowed or lent money.

"Therefore, today is more about confirming this. But unfortunately it is not what we expected. It is not recognized," he added.

"That what was submitted by our client from his statement was a sum of money which at that time was given in Singapore on behalf of a borrower," continued Muhammad Akilman Yudha.

Akilman added that Sirajuddin Mahmud borrowed Rp 500 million from Arif Yahya in 2015.

"So if the value is according to our client's statement after being converted to around the sin dollar, if I'm not mistaken, there was around Rp. 500 million in 2015," he concluded.
