Full Of Controversy, The Idol Series Doesn't Continue Season Two

The Idol series does not continue into the second season. The series directed by Sam Levinson in collaboration with The Weeknd or Abel Tesfaye is confirmed to be finished with the first season alone.

"The Idol is one of the most provocative HBO original programs, and we are pleased with the audience's response," said the HBO representative.

"After discussing and considering carefully, HBO, as well as creators and producers decided not to continue the second season. We thank creators, players, and crew for their outstanding work," they said.

The first season of The Idol series was completed with five episodes, which changed from the original plan of six episodes. The series ended on July 2 by going through various controversies and contras from the audience even since the series aired.

Initially, the series was directed by Amy Seimetz in April 2022 but she left production and was replaced by Sam Levinson. In March this year, Rolling Stone made a report on a toxic work environment during filming The Idol.

The Weeknd replied to the claim by uploading one of the deleted scenes in which he called Rolling Stone irrelevant.

When the first episode was released, the series was watched by 913 thousand audiences. As the episode continues, the series continues to reap an increase in the number of viewers of up to 7 million.

Reportedly, this series is planned as a limited series so that only the first season is available. This was also felt by actor Moses Sumney, while Da'Vine Joy Randolph thought the series would continue into a second season.

The Idol tells the story of Joceline (Lily Rose-Depp) who fights for her musical career as a pop star after she cancels the concert tour. He then meets Tedros (Abel Tesfaye) who is the leader of a sect.

The series presents various actors and singers such as Suzzana Son, Troye Sivan, Jane Adams, Jennie BLACKPINK, Rachel Sennott, Hari Nef, Dan Levy, and others.
