Regarding The Merger Of Angkasa Pura, Erick Thohir Said It Took Three Months

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir gave the latest news regarding the merger or merger of Angkasa Pura I and II.

He said the merger of the airport management company took at least three months.

"Regarding Angkasa Pura, this is indeed a plan that takes 3 months, so this year there has been an initial assessment," said Erick in a working meeting (raker) of Commission VI of the DPR, in Jakarta, Monday, December 4.

Erick explained that the airport or airport industry in various countries had begun to change. Therefore, Erick considered it necessary to anticipate.

Moreover, he said, sometimes the industry is trapped in its outer appearance.

However, he continued, many countries are the opposite where the outside of the airport looks normal but the conditions inside are good.

Erick said, this is what makes Turkey's airport the best airport in 2022.

"Sometimes we are airports trapped for visuals outside, so the building is good. But if we look at benchmarking from various countries, actually the extraordinary buildings are normal, in fact, it must be good inside," he said.

Erick admitted that he would re-map the airport development, where there are airports that are developed as optimally as possible, but there are also airports that are developed as needed.

"We will try to reduce this consolidation to build airports that are tourist destinations, such as Bali, I think that Bali has changed its airport, if Jakarta has not changed. Even though this is one of the highest traffic and some areas where the airports themselves may not need to be like Bali and Jakarta," he explained.

Regarding this merger, Erick ensured that it would not have an impact on employee layoffs (PHK). For example, he said, the merger was carried out on Pelindo,

"Our economic growth continues to be good. In the past, it was feared that the merger would reduce employees, it would not be proven, it would increase, seeing that Pelindo is getting bigger day by day. AP with a more efficient merger, airport business models can be different depending on airport types and also standardization can be better," he said.
