Ministry Of Manpower, Persons Vue, And Certification Jajaki Profession Certification Cooperation

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Manpower, Afriansyah Noor said, the Ministry of Manpower together with Pearson Vue and Certiport explored cooperation opportunities related to the identification of gaps and professional certification skills in Indonesia.

"We welcome the arrival and delivery of the proposed cooperation from Pearson Vue and Certiport. Today's meeting is expected to be the first step in cooperation between the Ministry of Manpower and Pearson Vue and Certification," Wamenaker said in an official event, Sunday, March 26.

During the meeting, Wamenaker presented challenges and opportunities to increase the competence of human resources (HR) in Indonesia.

The challenges in question are that informal labor still dominates; residents who are still affected by COVID-19; and the disruption of digital technology marked by the industrial revolution 4.0.

Meanwhile, the opportunity that is owned is that Indonesia will reach the peak of the demographic bonus by 2030; create jobs that can be filled by Indonesian human resources through national priority projects.

"In responding to these challenges and opportunities, we need superior and competitive human resources," he said.

Wamenaker said that one of the efforts made to improve human resources was through vocational training. Moreover, training has several advantages.

Among its advantages is a relatively short duration; participant input is not limited in a certain age; inclusive applies to all groups; oriented to job placement, entrepreneurship, and increased productivity.

Another advantage of vocational training is the flexibility of training programs on changes in the world of work; Teacher human resources are practitioners; training programs that are to the point for the competencies needed; and can be combined with other social safety net programs such as Pre-Employment, KIP, PKH, and BPJS.

He said that currently vocational training is widely looked at by job seekers and also workers to gain competence or increase competence or shifting competencies based on these advantages.

"This is because vocational training can be a solution to the low competitiveness of the workforce and unemployment in the era of digitization and job mismatch during the economic recovery," he concluded.
