JAKARTA - President Director of BUMN Holding Mining MIND ID Hendi Prio Santoso admitted that he was worried about the development of the manufacturing industry which was not yet massive.
In fact, MIND ID's subsidiary has carried out downstreaming of superior commodities from each subsidiary.
Hendi said MIND ID's subsidiary had committed and actively carried out downstreaming of tin ore, nickel, copper, gold and bauxite.
"We hope to be anxious because of course our achievements have succeeded in making manufacturing raw materials. However, we are also worried because the condition of domestic manufacturing does not yet exist that can take advantage of raw materials," said Hendi in his remarks at MINDIALogue in Jakarta, Thursday 9 January.
Hendi ensured that MIND ID supports the growth of the manufacturing industry climate by ensuring the availability of raw material supplies that will be needed later.
He admitted that it would be very unfortunate if the raw materials that had been prepared by MIND ID's subsidiary did not get added value in the country.
"We believe that the downstream program cannot run alone but must be accompanied by industrialization. But unfortunately, what I heard was that industrialization in Indonesia actually decreased, especially in sectors that could make raw materials for the mining world," explained Hendi.

For this reason, Hendi hopes that there will be strategic collaboration between the mining sector and the manufacturing industry so that buses bring greater benefits to national economic growth.
Moreover, Hendi continued, the Government is targeting economic recovery of up to 8 percent.
"Thankfully it can become a consistent sector in order to achieve the 8 percent economic growth target," said Hendi.
