Running Work Program in Medan, Mayor Bobby Asks For Input From The University Of North Sumatra
JAKARTA - Medan Mayor Bobby Afif Nasution asked for the input of academics of the University of North Sumatra to build collaboration in carrying out his main work.
"The role of academics is very important to provide input on the direction of policy", said Bobby, in his speech when receiving a visit from Rector of University of North Sumatra, Dr. Muryanto Amin, with the deans at the Medan Mayor's office reported by Antara, Friday, May 21.
Mentioned five strategic programs and priorities that are being run by the Medan City Government.
"I convey a little priority of the Local Government of Medan at this time, namely how to combat COVID-19, repair damaged roads, overcome flood problems, cleanliness, and development of Kesawan area is the main focus at this time. That's why I need input from the University of North Sumatra", he said.

Meanwhile, Dr. Muryanto Amin, said usu and Medan municipality have committed to collaborate to solve the problems of the Medan people.
Campuses should not be ivory towers. Academics must also be able to answer challenges to solve various problems.
"Because of the coincidence of the University of North Sumatra in Medan, the problem in this city, of course, becomes our duty as well", he explained.
Muryanto hopes that with the meeting between academics and bureaucrats, the government can build a slick collaboration scheme to fill each other so that the resulting policies can bring the city of Medan to be better.
