Propam Polda Sultra Examining 6 Police And 1 Security Regarding Kendari Journalist Violence Case

KENDARI -  Profession and Security investigators of Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) Police examined 7 people related to the incident of violence that was received by journalist Rudinan (31) while covering the demonstration.

Head of Profession and Security of Southeast Sulawesi Police, Grand Commissioner Teguh H. in Kendari, Monday, said the six people who had been questioned by members of the police and one other person were security at the Kendari Work Training Center (BLK) office.

"Profession and Security investigators moved quickly to ask witnesses who knew about the incident of violence against journalists who suspected that the perpetrators were members of the police," Teguh said as quoted by Antara, Monday, March 22.

Investigators expect support from people who saw the incident of violence against Rudinan to be questioned as witnesses.

"We hope that the victim will cooperate in providing information so that the handling of the alleged violation of police ethics will run more quickly," he said.

The incident of violence against journalists was said to be the effect of a demonstration by a group of people protesting the auction of project work at Work Training Center Kendari.

The violence that befell the journalists of the Kendari City News daily has become the spotlight of members of the press from professional organizations and press company organizations.

The Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police also held a gathering with journalists led by the Head of the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police, Inspector General Yan Sultra Indrajaya.
