Celebrating Chinese New Year, Ma'ruf Amin Invites Confucian Entrepreneurs To Help Restore The National Economy
JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin invited the Confucian community, the majority of whom are business actors, to participate in helping the government in restoring the national economy affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
"I also really hope that Matakin, most of whose citizens are business actors, can support the government's efforts to restore the national economy due to the COVID-19 pandemic," he said, at the 2572nd Chinese New Year commemoration of the Congzili nationally held by the Religious High Council Indonesian Confucianism (Matakin), Sunday, February 14th.
Ma'ruf said the support from Confucian business actors would have a significant impact on the acceleration of national economic recovery in the future.
Not only that, but Ma'ruf also asked religious leaders and Confucians to maintain their health and comply with health protocols in the midst of the current COVID-19 pandemic. Because, according to him, advice and guidance from religious leaders can be relied on to maintain the obedience of the people so that they are disciplined in maintaining health in the midst of a pandemic.

"The advice and guidance of religious leaders will certainly strengthen the conviction and obedience of its people about the dangers and very detrimental consequences if discipline in implementing health protocols is not heeded," he explained.
Not only from the Confucians, but Ma'ruf also hopes that all religious-based social organizations (mass organizations) can continue to play a role and to contribute in maintaining harmony between religious communities in the country.
According to Ma'ruf, building national unity and integrity is a major factor in maintaining the integrity of the nation.
"On this occasion, I would like to convey my high appreciation to Matakin and all Confucians for their participation and contribution in helping people overcome the COVID-19 pandemic and its socio-economic impacts," he explained.
