JAKARTA - Nominasi Oscar 2020 dirilis secara resmi melalui streaming langsung. Seperti yang diprediksi, sejumlah nama yang memenangkan Golden Globes kembali berkompetisi dalam penghargaan prestisius ini.
Film-film seperti Ford v Ferrari, Jojo Rabbit, Joker, Little Women, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, 1917, serta perwakilan Korea Selatan, Parasite menjadi penerima utama daftar penghargaan ini. Satu yang menarik, tahun ini Oscar menyertakan film-film rilisan layanan over the top (OTT) Netflix ke dalam nominasi.
Film-film tersebut adalah The Irishman, Marriage Story, The Two Popes, American Factory, The Edge of Democracy, I Lost My Body, serta Klaus. Perkembangan layanan streaming beberapa tahun belakangan memang tidak dipungkiri didasari alasan yang bagus. Salah satunya film dan serial yang ada di dalam Netflix sudah setara dengan kualitas film di bioskop.
Selain itu, penyebaran film di Netflix yang meluas bisa menjangkau ide-ide cerita film yang sering dibatasi jika ditayangkan dalam versi layar lebar. Bukan merendahkan film bioskop, tetapi saat ini film-film bioskop sudah selayaknya bersaing dengan layanan streaming yang semakin berkembang dan tidak berhenti sampai di Netflix saja.
