JAKARTA - An elderly fisherman named Wamu (60) drowned due to a fishing boat that he was traveling in overturned being hit by a big wave while looking for fish in Muara Kalibaru, Cilincing District, East Jakarta.

The victim was reported missing and drowned in Basarnas Jakarta since Thursday night, January 25 at around 22.30 WIB. After receiving the report, the joint SAR team searched for victims on Friday, January 26, morning.

"The second team carried out an effort to search under the surface of the water through the dive process up to a radius of 10 meters from the scene, if conditions allowed," he said.

The joint SAR personnel deployed in the SAR operation included the Jakarta Basarnas, Kalibaru Police, Tanjung Priok KSOP and other fishermen. The search for victims continues.
