Prevent Air Pollution, Police Start Banning Waste From Burning In Residents' Settlement Areas

The West Jakarta Metro Police have begun to prohibit residents from burning garbage through an appeal given by Binmas members in a number of residential areas. Officers also provide education to residents to prevent air pollution.

Head of Binmas West Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Tuti Aini, said that his party wanted to invite the public to play an active role in maintaining air quality in the West Jakarta area.

"One of the simple actions we can take is not to burn garbage carelessly," said Kompol Tuti, Wednesday, September 13.

Kompol Tuti hopes that through this educational campaign, the public will be increasingly aware of the importance of protecting the environment and health.

"With good cooperation, we can all work together to maintain clean and healthy air quality for future generations," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding the handling of waste, the police asked residents to choose other environmentally friendly ways to manage waste. The solution is not by burning garbage.

In addition, the police are also intensifying free vehicle emission tests to the public.

"If later found vehicles that do not pass the emission test, they will be directed to serve vehicles at the place provided," he said.
