JAKARTA - A house that is used as a warehouse for bird cages on Jalan Pembina Raya, RT 12/06, Palmeriam Village, Matraman District, East Jakarta, was allegedly burned by an unknown person (OTK) on Wednesday, April 26. "We have deployed 15 personnel with 1 fire engine unit to the location. However, when the members arrived at the location, the fire had been extinguished by residents using APAR. The firefighters only carried out cooling and taking data," said Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman when confirmed, Wednesday, April 26.

The burned area is 3x5 meters. The house belongs to Firman. As a result of the fire, the owner suffered a loss of around Rp. 20 million.

When the officers conducted the examination, it turned out that the smell of fuel around the location. Allegedly, the fire was deliberately carried out by an irresponsible person.

"The owner of the house suspects that someone had a fad (deliberately) burned the branches for the birds on the terrace of the house. So they spread into the house (because the owner smelled kerosene in the burning place)," he said.

From the scene of the incident, it was found that kerosene was fueled in a container. It is suspected that someone else poured kerosene on the terrace of the house.

Meanwhile, the Matraman Police are still investigating the location of the burning house. The police have not been able to conclude the exact cause of the fire.
