Responding To PDIP Requirements To Join The Great Coalition From Indonesia 1, Gerindra: Everything Must Be Discussed Together

JAKARTA - Daily Chairperson of the Gerindra DPP, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, responded to the news that the General Chairperson of the PDI-P (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri agreed with the discourse on forming a major coalition as long as her cadre became a presidential candidate (candidate) or RI 1.

According to Dasco, anything related to the grand coalition, all things must be discussed together by the political parties that are members.

"So, whatever is conveyed about the grand coalition, of course, everything must be discussed together, only then will this become a big coalition that has truly become a coalition of existing parties," said Dasco at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, April 5.

Therefore, the Deputy Speaker of the DPR does not want to talk about the presidential and vice presidential candidates of the grand coalition. Because said Dasco, it is the authority of each political party. "I don't want to respond to who the presidential and vice presidential candidates are, because it is the authority of this party to discuss when they meet," he said.

Dasco assessed that the gathering of the five general chairmen of political parties at the PAN office last weekend was just the initial meeting. For this reason, he emphasized that it is too early to discuss candidate pairs from the discourse on forming a major coalition, including proposing Prabowo as a presidential candidate.

"Yesterday, it was a meeting of 5 new parties for the initial meeting, I think it is still too early for us to talk about presidential candidates, because party parties of course also have their own aspirations that we must listen to," said Dasco.

Dasco also admitted that he did not know about the planned follow-up meeting of the five political parties meeting. According to him, Gerindra is still waiting for developments.

"I don't know yet, because yesterday it happened because of the initiation from PAN. We don't know yet, we'll just have to wait for the progress for the next meeting," said Dasco. Previously, PDIP admitted that it agreed with the plan to form a Great Coalition for the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) with the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KKIR). However, PDIP required a quota for presidential candidates if they later joined.

"It is both open to PDIP. The election process is running smoothly, the agenda is not postponed," said PDIP politician Budiman Sudjatmiko, Wednesday, April 5.

Budiman assessed that if PDIP joins the Great Coalition, then it is only natural that the presidential candidate seat becomes the PDI-P quota.

"Coalitions, presidents and vice presidents, I think it needs to be discussed because of course every party wants to become RI 1, Gerindra proposed Pak Prabowo, Cak Imin from PKB, Golkar Pak Airlangga. PDIP may also apply for RI 1, even though it determines Mrs. Ketum (Megawati Soekarnoputri)," he said.
